Default Hardmounted Droid

If anyone is interested, I hardmounted my Droid and ran an aux-in and charger, so I have navigation and Pandora piped through the stereo now.

I already had an Alpine CDA-9885, so I bought an AI-Net adaptor (AI-Net-->RCA) and then RCA-->3.5MM to run from the headphone jack on the Droid. Then I installed an extra power point behind the dash with a charger in it, and routed all the cables out from behind the dash in the passenger footwell (there is an opening behind the kneepad thingy):

Also hidden there is my iPod mini, hooked to the Alpine with a FullSpeed cable. I just tucked all the wiring in the little net there.

Finally, I bought a Panavise S2000 dash mount, a Panavise Garmin ball mount, both from Modify, and installed the Moto Droid car mount bracket onto it. Worked out great.

Great install! A 90 degree 3.5mm jack would make it even cleaner looking.

Excellent point, I don't know why I didn't think of that. Thanks!

I'm going to try the same thing with Modifry's bracket and ProClip's mount (with a magnet added for car dock mode). Probably won't wire audio to the head unit though since I have an iPod that lives in the S.

How much is the Proclip mount? I bought the Garmin ball, and just used the bracket from the Droid mount I had already bought (I kept the suction cup part so I can mount the Droid in my wife's car for trips and such.)

I already have an iPod in my car too, which I kept in there, but Pandora has been much better than my tired song collection on the iPod.

I use my droid in my workout room for music. Using a 3.5mm jack to a reciever. I am able to talk on the phone and hear the voice through the speakers. I can only imagine its the same for you? If so, do people have a hard time hearing you with the phone over there??

Sorry, just saw this. When I'm in the car, I use a BT headset. So it's no concern. However, when I'm on conference calls that I'm not participating in, I can listen to the audio over the car speakers.
