Default Having trouble installing door speakers

So I bought a head unit and some new speakers and I had no problems installing the head unit. I got the door panel off and my speakers don't fit in the speaker basket, which is odd because I read on the forum that these speakers would fit just fine. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00A033E28/..._26725410_item

So I'm looking for ways to make them fit. I'm short on time so I need the easiest option. I also took the tweeter apart and I'm not sure how to mount the new tweeter. It's the same size but there is no screw hole in the back to try to use the existing bracket. Whoever said these were plug and play was incorrect... Also, these speakers come with a crossover, should I just cut all the wires and splice them all together or is there some sort of adapter so I can just plug everything in? I don't mind cutting and splicing but I just want to check before I start cutting things up.
Thanks!

Cut the back of the bracket off, you can also find adapters on ebay selling really cheap. I used double sided tape to mount my tweeters, if you are using the deck to power the speakers you can buy an adapter so you don't have to cut the original wire.

something like this http://www.ebay.com/itm/Factory-Spea...ea8f03&vxp=mtr

Well the one issue I have is that even if I cut out the back of the basket the screw holes on the new speakers don't line up with the basket. I can't even tap new ones because they go past the basket edge. Do you think the aftermarket adapters will fit?

Also, that ebay set says they will fit 5.25" speakers, but I have 6.5", do you think both work?

Also, how do you use double sided tape without taping over the front of the tweeter?

Any ideas? I'm very anxious to get these installed, I found a method of mounting the tweeters, but I can't seem to find the right way to mount the 6.5" speakers.

I used the 3m double sided tape to mount the tweeter where it should be screwed in, I'm pretty sure I ordered my 6.5" bracket from the same seller just send them a message. They are out there just search.

Speaker adapters for this car are near impossible to find. I email the one and only seller on ebay who has them and hopefully he'll respond.

There's nothing terribly exotic about spacer rings - many people make them themselves out of MDF.
Someone above posted a link to some on ebay; checking on Amazon for 6.5" speaker spacer yielded
numerous results. As you'll be eliminating the stock speaker basket, you may want to protect the
speakers from rain with a foam speaker baffle.

Thanks, I guess I'll order the generic spacers and just tap new holes in the door. It will bring a tear to my eye putting holes in the car lol.

you shouldn't need to tap new holes in the car, just in the spacer!
Something like this looks like it would work, though it's been so long
I can't remember for sure.
