Default Head Rest Speakers for 2006

I noticed on a newer model, 06 I believe, It has integrated head speakers.

Can you just buy the new plaster roll hoops with the speaker encasement and install on previous models?

It's the casing that covers the roll bar that has the integrated speaker, and it's OEM. Is that interchanable with any other year?

I don't see why you coudn't swap the roll hool covers to retrofit to previous years.....as the others have said.

A couple things though.........

1. Those OEM headrest speakers and rool hoops are gonna be major bucks.

B. For MY $$$, I would look into the S-Pods instead. You can utilize a MUCH larger speaker (5.5" instead of the dinky 1.5" OEM pair) in each of the hoops. Granted the S-Pods should be wired mono compared to stereo for the OEM setup, but the deeper/fuller sound is way better.

S-Pods sold for $249 + speakers the last time I checked. I'm scared to see what Honda is asking for the roll hoop covers and their cute little speakers.

Actually, it's not THAT as far as price goes.

Each side is about $115. You'll need the covers too which are $8 each (need 4). The speakers are Pioneer and go for a whooping $45 each (need 4). Personally, I would probably just get 'aftermarket' speakers/tweeters for that price.

I need to replace my separated driver's side roll hoop on my AP1 and I'm looking to enhance my audio so this might be a good idea for me.

how are these different than the prior AP2 speakers as far as quality/fit/price is concerned?

I also have been contemplating getting the OEM HR speakers.

Subcribing.

The OEM roll-hoop/head rest speakers suck!! With them, your S2000 will have 8-speakers (pure marketing tactic) but they're basically useless speakers. Since they're so small, they're tweaters at best and sound really, really, tinny. Save your time and money and get some real speakers (like 5.25" or 6.5").

...Agree. Consider any speaker behind your head as "for effect".
Cheap or expensive speakers in this area is not going to greatly enhance your listening experience.
Take the money you were willing to part with for this upgrade and spend on better fronts. Look at some of the component offerings or even some very nice main speaker upgrades.

Precisely!!! Do you want more tweeters???? Or a decent full range sound provided by a decent sized 5"+ speaker cone?
