Default HEAD UNIT HELP PLEASE!

my fren jus got a nice panisonic head unit on his 03 S2000...well my other fren has a 2 door honda accord ex 2004 and he wants to know if he can get a head unit on it... Can you put a head unit on the new accords? Some people told me you can't because it will mess some things up. So can someone tell me please if you can or not...

"fren" obviously means friend. why be an ass and respond like that when you damn well know exactly what he means?

i would think you would get a much better response at an Accord forum

I really want to rip on you too but I'll just answer your question. Yes. Don't do it yourself though. Take it to a shop or you will screw it up, (judging by the fact that you even have to ask this question I can tell you're not qualified).

Two other words of advice: Spell Check!

Ouch, tough crowd. The simple answer is that you can always upgrade a head unit. Doing so could break something else and you will often need a kit to eliminate the space in the dash left over from a single DIN HU but these aren't too hard to find.

A head unit is just a means to an end. It converts your CD's 1s and 0s to an audio signal and sends that to an amplifier to feed your speakers. I'm oversimplyfing but the point is simply that you can always change out your audio source and get adapters if you need them. On a new Accord I'd think you'll lose your audio control buttons on the steering wheel but again there are kits to regain that functionality.

actually, w/ the new Accord, i think their HU is WAY integrated... including climate controls, etc.

here's a pic:

so, i really am not sure on whether you can do anything with it. a pro-shop would be your best bet.

this is another case where massive integration just makes you wonder... why? iirc, the new Odyssey is like this as well.
