Can anyone suggest a headunit (Aplpine, perhaps) that matches the amber/red finish of the stock AP1 cluster? A wired remote version would be great so I can get the Modifry DCI...

Nakamichi CD-400 has amber & works with the IR Modifry DCI

 

alpine 7894, although it's several years old now.

i dont know why alpine doesn't allow more than just green and blue on most of their headunits

 

I thought several of the upper level ones (more recent than the 7894...i am currently running the 7895....I think) can change a few colors. I thought the 9855 could change and the 9853 could as well (I think PJK3 has this one...or had one).

I think you can set it though the iPersonalize CD's that you rip from your PC (via Alpine website) and load onto the unit with you custom settings.

The Alpine 9855 for sure. It can be matched up to just about anything colorwise. IIRC, theres over 500 shades you can set it to. Plus you can set the buttons to one color and the backlighting to another.

 

I found the nakamichi cd-300. Will that work with Modifry?

Which model eclipse is amber? I found the cd-2000, but I like the simplicity of the nakamichi better!

 

The eclipse CD2000, CD3000 and the CD4000 all have amber.

I have the CD3000 and its a great unit.

 

it doesn't look like the Nak CD-300 (not to be confused with the
Eclipses mentioned above) supports a remote control, so no it
won't work with the Modifry DCI (but the CD400 & CD500 will).

 

for the record - Does the modifry mods work with it - does it take the wired remote or the IR version? Thanks!
