Default Help! Audio Question

Anyone using an Alpine 7894 or similar? I left the interioer light on and my battery went dead. Now the Alpine lost all of its settings. It really sounds like crap now.

I read the manual and it makes a lot of references to time correction and bass focus, I dont understand any of this stuff or have any idea how to adjust it. when I bought the car the stereo was tuned perfect, I just want to get it back to how it sounded before.

Anyone know how to best tune this stuff?

Tuning is so subjective. The guys here will probably want to know the other equipment you are running before they can help you out.

I'm sort of a novice, so I really can't help you with it.

Yea....let me know what equipment you have (fronts, rears, etc)

Also, if you like your music bright, etc.....

Alpine head unit will produce an generally "bright" sound. That's the experience I've had with all alpine stuff. I'll try to help since no one else has as of yet...
Start with your broadest adjustment (maybe the bass boost or preset sound quality selections, tune as best you can there.
Go to the next finest adjustment, tune to your liking...
Again, we know nothing of your setup...do you have a sub? rear speakers? tweeters? amp on your doors?
Sorry I couldn't help out more.

Your time correction is set back to zero. You need to retune that part. You'll need to do this yourself or a qualified Alpine shop. You'll need too take a few measurements as regards the distance from your ear to each speaker. Then use the speed of sound equation, to get the proper tuning lenghts. Then enter those into the deck.
I can help you with that. But I'll need the measured distances.

This will also depend on the kind of setup you have. If you have front and rears or just fronts.

What type of speakers do you have?

Thanks all for responding, I have not check the board for a while.

Anyhow, my setup

Alpine 7894 HU
JL Audio AMP
JL Audio 8 inch sub in the trunk
5 or 6 inch? aftermarket speakers in the doors (dunno what kind they are as they came w/ the car but I can tell the speakers are blue when I look through the mesh)
And the small tweeters above the door speakers.

I like my music to be very clear, lots of high notes but not screechy. I like the bass to be smooth and flowing, not so hard that it makes the the car rattle. I listen to a lot of Rock, Alternative, and Jazz A lot of live (XM Live) music and a lot of Unplugged stuff.

Hope thats a decent description.

Shawn

I'm not positive, but I think the only crossovers are hooked to the tweeters and door speakers.

I know the Amp is a 4 channel and 2 of the channels are bridged for the sub.

What I meant was do you know if you have any x-overs in the doors for the speakers?

I also need the distances from your head to each speaker. For the speaker in the door if they are more than 12" apart measure to the middle of them both.

If you have a CD burner you can enter the lengths onto the Alpine website and then burn the proper programming onto a disk so you'll always have it. Just a thought.
