ensure you have the right size of guage of cable for the amp... as the amp might be drawing more then the cable is rated for, and thus the fuse is protecting the cable from burning out.

Cable size selection chart

AND

ensure you have the correct size of fuse for the guage of cable your useing that same link...

Let us know how that worked out for you

Also after u check your cabling is the right size and lets say it is.. If it still does it and u have the right fuse in the fuse block as well.. Then the amp is probully shorting out inside..

I am not sure where your amp is located in your car, but if you are useing the chart I posted, and your amp is in the trunk... I will assume you have an aprox distance of 12 feet (best case situation). Then 8 guage cable is only going to be able to handle 200Watts RMS. NOT 1000WATTS.

You might start a fire in your car. Is your amp rated at 1000W or 1000W RMS??? I highly suggest replaceing your amp with an amp that is rated for 200W RMS OR replace your cable with a 2guage cable that can handle 1000W. (cable being the cheaper route).

I have a 180W RMS amp...and I used an 8guage cable, manufacture said that 8guage was the MINIMUM I could get away with. Your playing with fire.

What size is your fuse???

which fuse are you referring too?? the one under the hood or the one in the amp??? umm i would have to check it out later if it is 1000W or 1000W RMS that you are talking about... so you think if it is 1000W the cheapest is to switch out my power wire to a 2ga???
