Default Help With Harsh Bright Speakers

Setup: Stock Head Unit
Tsunami Line Output Convertor
Alpine 2 Channel Amplifier
Infinity Kappa Perfect Components.

I've heard that the Kappa Perfects where bright, but i don't think thats the reason my sound is coming out so bad. Basically, I put every knob on the amp at the center, and put the tweeter gains on the crossovers down. I find myself having to turn the treble to about -4 or -5. I'm not really sure what to do, since i'm not very good with car audio. I'm thinking this problem is due to the head unit but just want to make sure there is no other way to somewhat fix it, like tuning the amp correctly. My amp settings are as follows...

Gain - Center says "Nom"
LP filter - Off
HP Filter - off
Crossover - 50
Crossover - 100

I have two questions for you - what amp are you using, what power are you putting out? Also, did you listen to the speakers before you put them in?

. . . should I change the head unit, get differant speakers, get a differant amp, change the gain or crossovers or something?

Not really the best way to tune an amp. Check out the FAQ for a "how to" on this.

oh sorry I didn't see that, yes I listened to them. I liked them when I heard them out of the car, it was way more crisp and clear then harsh.
