Your depth is no problem My woofers were 2.79" deep and a snug fit with a custom ring. Can't say about your diameter though. You might have to mount them so far out that you'll have to modify the door skin and have them poke through?

Thanks for the reply,

I am getting a car audio shop to install them they said i might need speaker pods, i guess these are spacers? Is there not alot of room between the door cards and speakers then?

You just need a over sized spacer ring. No big deal they will fit fine. You do not need speaker pods as these will fit right in the door. So if they insist you do take your gear and find a different shop.

Thanks, so they should fit fine then... what about the tweeters? can they just replace the OEM ones? Where will the cross overs go? in the door too?

I am getting an amp to go under the seat... No sub going in...

I have tweeters in the roll over hoops... I want to keep these, can i run them off the headunit and the rockford's from the amp? I want them working for when i have the roof down...

You'll have to do a bit of dremel work to the sides of the tweeters so they'll fit the mounting posts, but other than that, there's no issue installing them in the door. Be very careful when you do this, you don't want to damage the speaker itself, just trim down the outer plastic.

The amp/HU setup you suggest works well for a lot of people. I don't believe speakers in the rear are necessary, so I can't speak from personal experience....lol

I am not doing the install... An audio shop is... I am hoping they hit no problems and i can just pick the car up at the end of the day... I am still undecided on what amp to go for...

Currently have a JVC KD-AVX44 headunit installed.

What are the tricky bits I need to point out to the audio shop? Ie running cables through gromits. where to run cables etc....

dropping the car off in the morning for them to start...

Well they worked on mine for the headunit and sat nav install with out any problems... they are considered a good shop over this side of the pond.

We shall see... I am not to worried as the guys there seem very helpful.
