Default HID bulb advice

I'm looking to replace my 9 year old bulbs. I've narrowed it down to 2 options, either the 66240 CBI D2S bulbs, or 66240 D2S bulbs SVS.

I'm mainly going for pure output. The CBI's are 5k and the SVS are 4200k (oem color). So looking at that kelvin rating alone the SVS are brighter, but the CBI's are whiter.

I'm hoping someone here has a set of both of these and can't give me a better prospective to the output.

I've heard great things about the SVS. With the claim of "30%" brighter", and OEM color, that would be my choice.

How much brighter than stock are they? Did they make a big difference?

You're making me want new headlights. I always felt like my AP2's were a bit lacking compared to my friend's TSX. Unless I'm imagining things

Funny you say that. That's the reason I want some too. All other cars with HIDs seem to over take mine when we drive side by side. I'm sure it's just the age of mine.

I'm just procrastinating on these 2 bulbs.

I own both a TSX (MY05 - 82k miles) and an S (MY00 - 145k miles), and my TSX headlights are just as bright as my S headlights.

I change my bulbs out once a year ...after 1500 hrs they are at 50% of their original brightness. Don't hesitate spending 200 on bulbs, anything else, such as knock offs will be a huge.down grade
New cbi on the right, stock bulb with lots of hours for comparison
