I would like to upgrade my HU and retain the ability to control the factory Honda CD changer. The sales guy at my local shop said this is not possible and that I will need to buy a new CD changer.

Any opinions?

it's possible if you get the old Alpine deck with M-bus stacker input

I believe they are obsolete now.
All the new Alpine decks use Ai-net now.

 

There are many buyers out there for stock honda CD changers. Post in the For Sale section... im sure you find a buyer
