Thumbs up Honda OEM alarm kit

Is the S2000 alarm kit available at hardtopguy complete?
Does it include the remote w/the panic button and all that?

I'll be buying the attachment kit too since its a first install... would that be all that I need?

(Obviously I'll also need honda technician to install the whole thing, but thats arrangeable. )

link for the part:

My suggestion, skip the alarm and go with something else, such as LoJack.

Why? Because LoJack can help you get your car back if it's stolen.

Alarms are basically nothing but noisemakers. They don't really scare thieves away anymore because nobody really pays attention to the alarms anymore.

When an alarm goes off, nobody thinks "Oh my God! Someone's stealing that car!" They think "Oh great. Someone's alarm went off and we're going to have to listen to it all day."

If you set your alarm and then walk away from the car far enough that you yourself cannot hear it and respond, then nobody else will. Your alarm doesn't call the police and nobody else will do it for you.

A thief can get away with your car, alarm or not, by stanging over your car and looking embarrassed and pointing vaguely at the car and shrugging and smiling a little if anyone bothers to look their way.

In some cases, the alarms are so annoying, mostly due to the number of false positives, that chances are if a thief tries to steal your car, your neighbors will help just because it means they'll never have to listen to your alarm go off again.

Tracking solutions make sure the car gets recovered and potentially catches the thieves in the act. The newer LoJack system can even notify you if your car is moved when you're not around it, so you can report your car more quickly.

I live in Turkey.
-I don't have a supplier or qualified store that would be able to install the LoJack system in a satisfactory (to my standards) manner.
-Costs minimum 2x the Honda Alarm system.
-I'd rather not find my car than find it with no wheels, interior stripped, and bodily fluids ahoy.

I actually live in a very safe neighborhood (closed garage with 24/7 security guards and closed access) and don't park the S in shady/sketchy places when I'm out.

I'm actually looking into an alarm system mostly for the panic button because I'm sick of asking people to get off my car. I wish there was a way for the alarm to go off when people touched it (a few people have been leaving small graffiti on it, written in the dust/dirt on the car), but the panic button alone would have to suffice as I don't know of anyone who can properly install a good alarm system.

What you need is a a DEI...Viper/Clifford type of alarm with a proximity sensor. It can be set to warn people that are too close or touching the car with a series of quick chirps, and then goes to full siren alarm if they don't move away or attempt to get in it. The better ones also come with a two way paging remote, that will let you know if someones bothering your car....usually works within about 1/4 to 1/2 mile range, depending on obstructions.

They can be purchased online for $200-$300 US, and if you already have a Certified Honda tech at your disposal, I'm sure he's more than qualified to install it if you don't want to attempt it yourself.

no, unfortunately my vandals weren't as skilled as those -- goddamn those are nice!

I'm checking out the Viper/Clifford alarms online, I'll let you know what I end up getting.

Any online stores in particular you'd like to suggest?
