Default how bad is this ebay box?

I'm assuming this isn't so great, hoping someone who's familiar with this can ease my mind. I know you typically get what you pay for, but I'm hoping that's not the case

Otherwise I'm looking that the $700 JL custom made stealth box, or having my local audio shop make one for me. I'd attempt to build one myself but know that would turn out like a train wreck.

Thanks,

Justin

From the looks of it i have a very similar if not the same box in my car. it fits very nice and its sounds pretty good, Now because of the size your not gonna get the most awesome sounds ever out of it like you would from a well put together ported box which is where i came from, but it is pretty good for what it is, i have no problems with it because when i first got it i went on a 6 hour trip with the top down and had the stereo on pretty good the whole time. After about 4 hours the sub got so hot that the cone melted away from the magnet. I though it was really weird but it has not happened again.

I've seen this sellers boxes on eBay and have wondered the same... I'd probably go for a 10" instead of a 12" with that little amount of space.

I have that box.. for 12 is garbage. I should have stayed with a 10 cut out. & to top it off they cut the whole too big so I can't even use it... waste of my money... never again... from a scale of 1-10 because I can't even use mine... 1. How can you NOT even test the cut out.

Some of the guys here have reported getting well built boxes off ebay. Not sure which boxes they're speaking of, but they are out there.

WLAURENT is back building enclosures (www.darksidesubs.com)- 1cu ft fiberglass. I'm sure if you give him the specs on the sub, he can make the cutout to size.

I have a Stereo Integrity Mag v4 12" sub that I run in my WLAURENT enclosure and it sounds amazing. mag has a 5.5" mounting depth, 1 cu ft sealed enclosure size, and b/c of the motor design has less distortion than subs that cost a lot more. $250 shipped, can handle 500-1000W (running 500 to the one in the S, 1000 each to the pair in my truck).

^I agree, some of them work out, not sure if it's from that seller. If you have a problem, send it back and get a working one, or take it to an audio shop and have them "fix" it. If they have something to start from, they should charge you way less.

I'll get it by Wednesday and hopefully have it installed by the end of next weekend and will update you all.

I got my 10" off ebay as well. I think it was from someone like subman or something like that. Can't remember the name but quality was really good. Fit in perfect and have had zero issues with it.

I got my box from that seller, for the price you cant complain. I was actually surprised by the quality of the box. Very solid construction sealed very well and fitment was spot on. No rattles and completely sealed. I do have to say the terminals should be swapped out for better quality but overall totally worth it. 12 does require polyfill to get it sounding right.

Great thanks for the feedback! Any chance you found a cover to go over the box (obviously w/ some vents) as I'm not sure how I'll be able to put things in my trunk no
