how to? boss bass600
i'm thinking about giving my stock system a little more umpf and heard great things about the boss bass600 stealthy amp and sub combo. Has anyone installed this on their factory unit? I think the sub takes RCA inputs but I don't think we have those outputs. So I want to know how you go about installing and wiring one of these to a factory headunit.
I have no experience with the Boss600, but was thinking of buying one for my e30. The first thing I'd do is try and measure the space you have under your seat, and compare it to the dimensions they give you. I have not looked at the back of the stock head unit, but here are two ideas I have.
A) Buy an aftermarket head unit. Use the adapter recommended for the S2000 to connect all the stock speakers. Use the RCA outputs for the sub to go into the boss inputs.
B) Intercept the speaker wires running from your head unit to your doors. Split the signal in to two pairs of wires. Use what is called a Line Out Converter (LOC). This takes a speaker input, and converts it to RCA outputs. You can get one at your local car A/V shop or Best Buy. I have an extra. If you want it, PM me and pay shipping and I'll send it to you.
