Default How da....(urgent help)

hell do you put the grommet back on driver's side....

I'm trying to replace my stock speakers and wiring and have been working all day on it. Using Jeffbrig's instructions, I've been able to get everything wired. However, I can't seem to get the grommte on the driver side back. I've been trying for hours with absolutely no luck. I managed to get the passenger side in but the driver is so much more difficult (it may also be that I'm right handed and thus have more strength for the passenger side).

In any case..I urgently need help in tips on how to get the grommet back through. The grommet is getting stuck at the very small hole in the door. Please help!!

Put some KY on the end of the grommet and it'll push right into place.

From the outside, line it up with the hole and put some pressure on it. Then, use your other hand on the other side to work the grommet side to side while you push with your other hand and the rubber skirt will eventuallly pop through. Anything that helps make the rubber slippery will probably make it pop into place easier.

Good luck! Glad to see some of you are finding the instructions somewhat useful.

Just a minor note, but if you use some sort of lubricant on the grommet, try to use something water-based. If you use a petro-based lube like vaseline, it'll just attract dirt and won't "evaporate", whereas something like KY will dissappear once it dries up.
