I have the CDX-m450 in my S2000.

Pros: Plays MP3s, display is clear even with direct sunlight.

Cons: No ID3 tags, skips alot (even on flat roads), flimsy face plate

Verdict: It sucks.

This amp is actually 50x4 + 200x1 RMS into 4 ohms. The 100x4 + 300x1 is RMS into 2 ohms.

Got my Alpine for for $600 and that's from an Authorized Alpine dealer That makes it just a $200 difference... hehehe... peez.

BTW, you're are right West, the tilt feature on the display panel is of no use to the S2000.

You could argue that you could get the SH-99 for much less than $400, probably $300, depending on how much you value service. And last I looked the Alpine MP3 deck was $750-800. I stand corrected on the $400 difference.

Didn't think the tilt feature would be of much use, it'd actually be nice if I could lean it DOWN in my winter beater, to kill some of the glare (which has affected all 3 stereos I've had in it - it's not a flaw of the SH-99).

Hey, do you mind telling me where u got it from again & their phone number? A local car audio shop here in Dallas (Cartoys) won't match a price unless it's an authorized dealer (So no internet places). They're asking full retail price of $800 . Thanks!

Tugz, if MP3 capability is not a must for you, consider a pre-amp only head unit, especially since I see you are already considering an amplifier. Check this thread.

Just my 2 cents
