How hard is it, really?
Hey guys, well in the past I had a crappy install on my alarm and I really want to totally rip the whole thing out and start over. I also want to relocate it.
In the past I installed a simple stereo in my car consisting of HU, Amp, components...ipod and wiring oh and also bluetooth.
So I really dont know ANYTHING about alarms, I know you must program them after installation or something, but my alarm installer already has that done so I figure I can just buy wire, lengthen everything and throw it back there where I want, how I want.
Any suggestions or good DIY's? the alarm is a viper 2-way paging one with remote start and also had a proximity put in there and remote trunk servo thing.
TIA guys

gonna be a pain if u mess up and have to start from square 1. i have the clifford 50.5x(same as the viper) and had the shop take out all the OEM stuff out. i dropped it off at about 9-10pm and the car wasnt done until 630pm.
Depends on how good of a job you want to do. I installed three and each took about 10 hours to do... but I was meticulous/anal about it. If all you're doing is lengthening pre-existing wires, you should be fine.
Without the proper tech support or documented information I would say it would be Extremly difficult if not impossible for someone to install an alarm on their own.
The alarm will not come with any instructions for your S2000. It will have basic information as required by a professional installer who does them every day.
IF you find the tech information for your S2000 on the web somewhere its important that you actually understand how to properly solder, and how to located and test the wires you are making connections to.
Under no circumstances should you make a connection without being 100% certain you connected the correct wires. The last thing you want to do is have an airbag explode in your face.
