Default How many watts Sub?

Wats up guys. I have an aftermarket HU and plan on adding a 10" sub and amp. How many watts are your subs? Just wondering because I dont want it to be overkill but I want it to hit. Lemme know! Thanks!

What kind of music do you listen to? What kind of box do you want? What kind of bass are you after?

Peak wattage means very little, you should be looking at RMS wattage. Wattage in general is only a fraction of what makes a subwoofer sound a certain way or produce a certain amount of bass.

I listen to predominantly hip hop with bass. I want a box for the hole in the trunk. I am after tight bass that wont rattle the trunk too bad. I am currently looking at something with like 300 watts. The rockford fosgate one.

500 watts RMS is what im running.
10 IN Alpine Type R wired to 2 OHMs, Should be plenty of power.
But you also have to make sure the amp you get matches the RMS rating.
