Default How much 5.25 rear speaker will improve sound?

How much more bass?(from searching I found out that 5.25 rear speakers dont add much bass at all..right??)
How much more midrage?
How more more high?

I mean is it worth more than investing $250?
Drametic improvement or just slight improvement?

I will be powering those with Aftermarket HU.
TIA

I think the best way to spend $250 would be to buy an amp for your speakers. As for the rear speakers, I just started playing with them tonight and decided that I'll definitely be going that route next! I just put the factory door speakers back there temporarily just to see what it would be like... pretty big difference!

That's my $.02

I just (as in this weekend) added a pair of Lanzar 5.25's behind my seats and the difference is night and day. I can't believe how much better the sound is, especially at high speeds w/ the top down.

Before w/ just door speakers getting 60W apiece from an amp, I couldn't make out much of the stereo once I went above 60 MPH or so. After installing the rears w/ 60W to each of them I can hear the stereo "clearly" up until about 110 MPH

I can't say that rears add that much bass in my setup, but I have high-pass filters setup that cut off at around 80 hz. My 2 8's in the trunk get those frequencies.

I got the rears here :

Can't beat 'em for $30.

It was kinda hairy cutting the panels behind the seat because the fit was so tight, I literally had less than a millimeter of play.

Also, if you screw up, I found replacement panels for about $15 apiece here:

it depends what you want out of the sound. i have a sony cdx-m850 headunit with polk compoents in the front. also i have 2 rockford subs pushin 500 watts in the trunk. i still need more SOUND the bass is fine but i need more SOUND, so i will be purchasing kenwood 3 ways rear + a multi channel amp to power the 4 speakers. again, its your car =D

instead of going the route of a rear speaker i upgraded my door speakers with a set of alpines and put a small amp on them and its more than loud enuf... complimented my 10" jl in the trunk really really well....

You'll think you're in a different car if you put rear speakers in. Even just using the power from the aftermarket deck with no amp will shock you.

Rears are the best thing you can do to improve the sound. Even though there is no bass, it really clarifies the mids and vocals.

I originally added just rears and upgraded (not great but upgraded) door speakers with the 02 factory HU. This made a dramatic improvement and I was satisified with the improvement until now. The OEM HU with rears is sufficient at very low driving speeds with the top up. I finally got tired of the poor sound quality at highway speeds and top down that I'm upgrading all now.

I just put in 4.25's and it's an amazing improvement. I thought the sound was great before, but as soon as the rear's were put in it brought a big smile to my face.
