Default how to replace the control unit

took the car to the dealer to see why the keyless system and alarm are not working-
mine is an oem unit (option on my '00 when i got it new)-
they tested and said that the unit is bad.
ordered the unit and dealer wants my car all day for the install...
can not see why this is such a difficult install- but i need more info

cant tell in the service manual which unit it is that i have ordered-
page 22-128 shows a keyless door lock control unit... under the dash. i am thinking that the part that i ordered is the one under the seat, but i can not find it in the service manual.

anyone know how to do this install (remove the old one and replace it)?

Not exactly sure, but my OEM alarm is under the dash, drivers side. If it's the control unit it should just have one plug, maybe 2 2nd for the sensor and just replace the unit.. It's not like everything has to be rewired so there no way it would take all day. 15-30 minutes tops.

i believe so, i dont rememeber as its been a while since reprogramming the oem remotes. im mostly doing aftermarkets, but yea its sounds like you got the idea, i know it has to do with the ignition the remote button, and closing and shutting the door, (at least in the rsx it was). it should tell you in the owners manual or just give a stealership a call, they should tell ya.

or.....

yea the alarm unit is under the seat. see according to that its a quick install if its just the unit going bad...should be a quick swap.... owners manual will tell you security operation, plus reprogramming i would assume

picked up the part to do it myself and found out that it is the keyless control unit.... so not the unit that i thought, and not the one above-
the part number is 38380-s2a-a01

so it must be the one under the dash- will dig out the helms manual and see if that helps. looked under the dash and didnt see the unit, but guess it must be there!

dealer had me order a part that i didnt need...

they wanted my car all day for the fix, and i dont have all day for them to have my car!!

posted up in the so cal forum and was told that nsxnext1 could help. he came out, took out the drivers seat, unplugged the old unit to reset it, plugged it back in and all works again just like new !!

cant believe how dealers rip folks off...

and i want to give a shout out to art (nsxnext1)-
thanks art for fixing my car !!
