How to stop Sony HU volume up/down beeping?

I can't find my manual, mp-40 model

My Pioneer does that too, and I did not see a way to defeat that. I thought my stock unit did it as well...

in the options menu (Menu key?) there is a setting for BEEP --> ON or OFF.

you CAN defeat it. trust me.

Hi, Steven, were you referring to the Sony or Pioneer?

both...all HU's should have that option. If not, the engineers should be dragged out back and SHOT!

my pioneer beeps as well. I thought I'd been through all the different menus and haven't seen anything about defeating the beep.

I don't really mind it though, kind of lets me know my button press worked. And behind that door it's soft enough that I don't hear it unless the music is near silent.

My Alpine did that for a while.....got REALLY annoying with the Modifry Speed Sensitive volume.

You can find the manual here:
