Default How will this sound?

I want to get the Wlaurent boxes for both sides with JL 8W3v2 8" in them. Assuming I get the right amp i was wondering how they would hit. Any insite would be appricated. I have the pioneer 7600 with mb quart refrence series componts not that it has anything to do with the subs. Thanks in advance for your time.

Well, how does it sound is very subjective but if it helps...

I have a single JL 8W3v2 in a Wlaurent box. It hits respectably and has a nice tight clean sound. It's all I need but if you want earth shaking and body panel vibrating bass it might not be adequate for you. Perhaps two of them would be more impressive but they will be pointed at each other, possibly causing phasing problems. Anyway I'm happy with mine as is and hope that an amp upgrade (going from 75 Watts RMS to 150 Watts RMS) will further increase my happiness. I really like the way that the Wlaurent box fits in the car and minimizes loss of trunk space.

I run two high powered 8"ers in WLaurent boxes. There are no phasing problems and I have never heard of that problem in the S2000. People mentioned that when I was thinking about two subs but I assure you will have no problems with it -- maybe more energy is needed before that happens, or something like that.

What is the difference between the 8W3v2 and the 8W6? Which would people recommend and why?

My subs are probably close to JLs, maybe a bit louder. Certainly they are much more musical. Mine have a really long excursion which is nice in a smaller sub, but unfortunately they are no longer bing made. The sound is perfect. I wouldn't change a thing. I like bass that I can feel and bass that compliments the music without boominess. Two high quality eights in the trunk is great for that.

^ C'mon over and listen to my 8"s before you say that one. I went from two 12"s in my last car to two 8"s in the S2000 and the the two 8"s (at least the elemental Design e8a's) are not far behind.
