only trainwreck knows what he meant, but I interpreted
"or is it possible to do a direct feed to the stereo and skip the aux
since a lot of ipoddy devices have fm now"
and
"if i can control tracks and radio settings on my ippody/zune device"
as wanting to bypass the headunit completely, since his MP3 player
does the two functions he wants, playing MP3s and FM radio.
I wasn't trying to piss on anyone else's answer, only to answer a
question I thought he was asking, and make it clear what the
question was that I was answering.

 

I know you weren't trying to piss on anyones answer. He just specified a head unit with aux first, then went the FM mod route. FM modulator isn't needed if you run straight to the amp so I didn't see any mention, or intention of going straight to the amp.
