Default Which HU will work for me?

Ok, im going to want an Alpine or Pioneer or Eclipse. I want it to have the input for the radio controls... either modfry's or that other one in the shopping area... the DCI or something or other... the 3.5" jack wired remote thing... i also want an auxilliary input and 2 outs...

i want a nice one... what do you all recommend?

Well for Alpine wired you have the 9857, which doesn't have aux inputs but you can use a converter to make an aux input on it. I think the 9860 is wired too but I'm not sure on that one.

You can get an IR DCI also, which opens up the list of models quite a bit, if you don't mind a little IR transmitter sitting above the radio.

I'd urge you to consider heads as your first decision over the type of modifrt dci. Why limit yourself to a few Alpine? Granted, Alpine make great stuff. It's just there may be something better for your budget/purpose.

I've got the IR Modifry, and no one has ever noticed the IR. I don't even notice unless I make an effort to find it.

You put the IR transmitter above the radio, but it barely sticks out.

It's noticable but not that big of a deal.

Having said that, I run a 9857 for the wired dci and fullspeed ipod controls.

Yup, noone will notice is unless they get REALLY close to the radio, and you tell them to look for it. Its the size of a matchstick head, maybe a bit longer. You cant see mine unless I point you to it.

Another S2k-er stuck his IR hidden in the light[S4Play]. I don't think it was a DCI [s4play.]

While most people put the dci by the radio including me, you can be imaginitive!
