Default I finally fixed my system!

As some of you already know, I had issues with my system due to having the wrong type of sub and enclosure (it was a fiber-glassed ported enclosure in the toolwell with a TREO 10" sub). It wasn't giving me the tight, accurate bass that I wanted. In fact, it was boomy and caused excessive vibration and rattling (flexing my trunk and wing) and sounded muddy.

Well, thanks to Jim (PAS2KNUT), I have a sweet set up. I liked Jim's enclosure with the Alphasonik PSW810. I asked if he wanted to sell it, but he liked it too much to let it go. Instead, he made a new enclosure for me (and an extra one for him) and carpeted it, cut it for the Alphasonik and sent it with a nice "S" cover. I purchased the Alphasonik through onlinecarstereos.com and yesterday, my friend and I installed it. I had also purchased the spare tire amp rack that we used to mount my amps.

After adjusting the gain and crossover, the bass was exactly what I wanted. Tight and accurate with more volume and even goes lower than my other sub.

So my setup is as follows:

Clarion 745 CD/MP3 player
Focal 165KP's and additional Focal tweeters in the doors
Audison Lrx 2.250 powering the mids/highs
MMATS 700x1 on the sub
Alphasonik PSW810 in custom sealed enclosure in tool well with "S" cover

I'll have some pics up soon! And I'll be at the Dragon in April, so those who want to take a listen, I'll be able to give you quite a show!

The PSW810 is amazing. Glad you are now satisfied with your sub selection.

I sure love my Alphasonik 10.

Thanks! I can't believe the Alphasonik kicks so much ass. I am most satisfied and definitely would recommend it to others that have the power to push it and a nice, sealed enclosure to hold it!

Think of the time and money you would have saved Nate if you just listened to me from the get go?!

Don't remind me! I'm so pissed with the local shop and all their crap. I would have saved a nice chunk of change for sure. However, I'm happy with all the other stuff I had purchased from them and have had no problems with that. But, if I had done that from the beginning (and purchased online instead), I still would have saved more!

Live and learn, right? Now I know for future reference.

I couldn't let it go. After debating selling it or trading it, I wouldn't have saved much money. Also, I would have been making a serious downgrade to something I wouldn't want. I love my car too much.
