Default I hate the stock speakers. What should I do?

I know nothing about car stereos. I would like to keep
the stock head unit. Would some please offer some
recommendations for speakers and an amp (do I need one?)?

Thanks

Upgrade your door speakers and install rear speakers. You can get the whole setup from Lucid www.lucidautomotive.com, or you can buy your own speakers and he'll cut panels for you, or whatever. Inexpensive, greatly enhances the sound. If you want epic sound and a boom-boom car, and want to spend lots of money, get an amp (but you'll lose space somewhere).

We installed Polk speakers front & back and it's WAY better.

If you've got the money, go for some Focal Utopias in the front and A/D/S in the rear, all powered by a PPI 4125!

I would suggest get the Polk EX602a speakers ($100) to replace the front. If you are not satisfied, add Polk 4" speakers behind the seats (Lucid's Panel). If you still are not satisfied, get an amp.

Easy answer...replace the door speakers, first off. See my webpage for instructions...

I have an S2000 2001 and I just recently put boston speakers in my doors..

they are mids and tweets and they angled the tweets they sound really good and look nice on the door. much better then the stock ones... and yes my mids are bigger then the stock ones.. they just cut around the bracket that held the stock ones on, and placed the new ones in the bracket.

Rumor has it that Alpine is coming out with a stealth box for the trunk.

ElTianti:

PPI (Precision Power Inc) and A/D/S are names of companies that make pretty nice car audio stuff.
Both the A/D/S and Focal Utopias require a lot of juice to power them and the 4x125 PPI amp would be a good choice.
