I think my front speaker is blown
My OEM passenger door speaker is blown I think. It may be the tweeter too? I can't really tell. I figured I'd just get new Speakers and see if that fixes it.
Currently the car has an Alpine CDA-9856 HU. I have no plans what so ever for an advanced system (subs, amps, etc.) Just curious to know what's good out there. It seems so hard to tell what requires an amp and how many watts it needs to be powered by? Thanks
Ryan B.

Technically nothing no system needs a power amp. A head unit will function fine. Now if you're wanting much more volume so you can hear your music with the top down, that's a different story and you'll need to get an amp.
Anyway, picking out speakers is something you should do at an audio shop. What sounds good to others might not sound good to you. If you're not wanting to spend much money, go to Best Buy. If you're looking at something a little better, go to a shop that carries high end brands.

An easy way to check obviously would be to swap your rights for your lefts before you go to the store. At least that way you will know if it is the speakers.
If you will never use a seperate amp find a speaker that you think sounds good but also has a high sensitivity ratng. More efficient = more volume with less amp power.

Since you are not necessarily interested in getting an advanced system...you prob dont need an amp. An alpine HU will do just fine for wattage. Then just ask any audio shop for some mid-price speakers. As long as you are getting aftermarkets, might as well get somethign half decent.
Boston acoustics are good for price usually. Might want to start looking at those.
