Default Infinity 6032cf vs Polk db651s

I want to install some db651's which are rated at 60W rms @ 4 ohms. So would I be looking for an amp with at least 120Wx4 (aka 500W)? Is there any harm in having too much power? Do you recommend any brands?

Well, I say this with caution, but no, you can't have too much power. People usually "blow" speakers by not having enough power for them causing severe distortion. Try starting out by matching the RMS power of the speaker with the RMS rating of the amp at 4ohms. For components, 50w and up RMS should be plenty. As far as the two brands are concerned, it depends on your listening style. I think the Infinity's have crisper, sharper highs while the Polk's will have more midrange and bass. Polk's highs are a more natural, smoother high which I like better. Both are great speakers for the price, but I will always take Polk's...

Thanks for the info. I ordered the Polks and a 50Wrms amp (couldn't find a 60Wrms within a reasonable price range). If I ever decide to run a sub I might just run a dedicated amp. Speaking of amps, I plan to put the speaker amp under the passenger seat. Where do you ground it under there?

I really don't. I have yet to look under the seats (except when in desperate need of change ) but its possible the seat bolt may work. You will have to scrape off the paint down to bare metal though for a good ground. Otherwise look under the carpet under the seat and see if there is a good chasis spot. Make sure to check under the car where you are drilling to make sure not to hit any fuel lines or wires. Good luck!
