Infinity 62.3i and 42.3i
I just placed an order on these speakers.
62.3i for the front doors $99/pair U.S.....Great price since they are $250CDN+Tax
Infinity 62.3i 6.5\"
42.3i for the rear panels $79/pair U.S......
Infinity 42.3i 4\"
I cant wait to install them....I think they would complement my Alpine 7873 very well..

Yep, I had 62.1i Kappas up front and 40-3cs components in the rear running of a 7878R and they worked out pretty well. I'd fit some Dynamat in the doors behind the front speakers though - it really does make a big difference.

Tif,
How does the Dynamat fare in the presence of water? - there is certainly a fair amount of water ingress into the area behind the speakers in the front doors (It normally passes harmlessly thro')

I am thinking about installing some Infinity fronts as well. Just gonna try and get by with the stock radio. Will I have enough power for them? Plus, do i have to cut out the speaker cups to accomodate the larger magnets? WIll I hear a big sound difference with the replacement of the fronts??? Please advise.
Thanks

YES, by replacing the stock speakers, you will definately hear an improvement....
I suggest you replace the speakers, the headunit and install Lucid rear's...you wont be dissapointed.
Peace

I think I'll have to strip a panel off and check though now

Ah, a good question... it seemed pretty well stuck on at the time and is made of a bitumen based compund (I think) so it shouldn't suffer from the water. As it is stuck onto the inside surface of the door panel I'm not sure how wet it will get (assuming the water runs down the glass pane and off the bottom into the drain holes).

Yeah, better to check though than worry its fallen off, blocked up the drain holes and I'm driving around with 6" of water swilling around in there!!

I was also concerned that it might get saturated and start to smell nasty in time

For those who have installed the Infinity Kappa 62.3i, is this a simple install without any modifications to existing door mounts? Don't the stock speakers have three holes as opposed to four? Would the Infinity 63.3i (3-way) also fit?
Thanks
