Install ALMOST COMPLETE!
Hey all just wanted to let you know that I installed a alpine cdm-7874 and a chm-s630 cd changer today! the whole install only took an hour or so. I popped out the honda OEM HU and I had purchaced a harness from cartoys ( i will be getting lucid's soon) . Now this is where it got fun. WE took out the drivers side seat and turned it over and mounted the cd changer right into the seat. We drilled 4 holes in the metal on the front and used the mounting brackets that were included in the alpine changer box and drilled right in. That mout is so strong we can pick up the chair by the changer. The changer is fairly easy to get to( I can access it while driving). I ran the wire to the cd changer right around the center console. WOW IT WAS SO EASY! We are putting in the sub (jl 12 inch) and a amp tomorrow. Hopefully it will be just as easy. I am looking into a way to mount my minidisk changer into the storage unit. HRMMM if anyone has any links to threads where it explains how to get into that cabnit from below i would be MUCH ABLIGED. I'll try to find my digi for the sub install. I bought all of this for 450$ from my little brother. I am trying to pay off the car this year so i did not want to go all out on the stereo (yet) Just thought i'd let you konw what is to come
from the front. It's great! Ok all i installed my amp and my sub and it sounds superb. my little brother (who i purchaced the system from) just tol dme that the box cost him 30 bucks. hehehe but the sub cost him 2 hundred and some odd. I am still using the OEM speakers and they sound alot better right away. I"ll try to find my digi. the thing i like about this install is that from the outside it looks like nothing has been done to the car. you totally can not tell!
