hey all!

could someone please write me up a detailed list of exactly what components, cables etc i will need to set up an dash touch LCD screen, Head unit, DCI, PCI(or mac mini) and maybe a PS2.

I need to make sure I buy everything before i even attempt an installation.

I think what you are asking is way too BROAD meaning you really need to narrow your parts down and do some homework before coming on here and expecting someone to do all the work for you.

Many of here have done what you are requesting but we each have our own budget, skills, and level of expertise.

A better more specific question would be: Can you guys tell me what type of touchscreen would fit in the upper dash for use with NAV and DVD? I will be using Brand XXX deck and would like my steering controls to function.

thanks for the feedback. i do apologise, it was a bit of a rushed post..

basically, i know the screen, the headunit and computer that i will be installing. i'm more interested in the extra bits that i need to worry about.

i'm buying a Sony MEX-R1 and will probably get a pretty standard 7" touch screen LCD i've seen on eBay. planning on installing a mac mini but this depends on the nav software (if any) i can find for it.

here are some of my questions -
if someone could help me with things like the lcd dash mount (where to find and which one), power converter/inverter for comp and lcd?
dash controller?
where would be the best place to mount the computer?
do i hook up the PS2 and PC to the head unit? or direct to the screen?

I think what he meant was you should try researching your project first then ask for advice. Asking someone to layout your entire setup based on that very vague starting post... well let's just say I highly doubt that's going to happen.

Next time you should list exactly what your trying to do, what you want installed and so forth.

This forum has some much info on car audio is scary... so yes please use the search and research your idea and plans. Then read the FAQ thread at the top of the forum... then post.

To add what John (Darkknight1999) is saying, we dont like to give advice in this forum unless we are 100% sure that it is correct, and wont leave you with fried parts, extra parts, missing parts, etc.

So, for your question, exact model numbers and all equipment would help.

I am planning on mounting a Mac Mini and a Playstation somewhere in the car too and would like to hook them up somehow.. But not sure if they go through head unit? or if i need some kind of switch..?

I would really like to have a full list so i'm not running from the car, to the forum, to the shop, back to the forum.. and back to the car
