Default installing turbo timer for air fuel function only?

Hello fellow s2kers! I just purchased a Top Fuel turbo timer (similar to the Apex, but cheaper!). I want to use it to monitor the air/fuel ratio under boost and full throttle. (even though I know it wont be as accurate as a wide band!) I tried running only the constant 12v power, ground (to the ecu ground wire) and primary o2 signal ( I got it from the center ecu plug, the only white wire). But the timer doesnt even turn on! Does this mean I have to hook up the turbo timer function for it to work? or perhaps I got the wrong wires? the car is a 2004 model. Any help would be appreciated!

thanks!

Alex

You definately need to hook up at least the ACC wire... and not to be a jerk... but are you seriously running boosted without a wideband O2 sensor? There are sooooo many inexpensive options for that nowadays... You know the narrowband O2 sensor is just basically an on/off switch, and will not give you ANY sort of meaningful reading, right?

Great, thanks!

P.S. I dont want to run a gauge because it makes it very obvious that Im running boost, and Im really scared of getting my car stolen! I know its not that great, but I think Ill feel at least a little better seeing a O2 voltage reading!

The stock o2 sensor shows you nothing. It swings from full on to full off about twice a second..constantly.
