Default Interfacing a Radar Detector with the stereo

Has anyone thought about adding a speaker for there radar detector.
Like this one ->
external speaker

or interfacing it to your current stereo system.
I would like to inteface it to the radio but I don't know how to do it.
If anyone has pics or opinions please let me know.. thanks.

Most of the time mine is loud enough too. Except when I'm going 90 with the top down and the stereo is up.
I guess if no one has done it maybe I will be the first...

If the stereo has a mute lead, it would be easiest to use it as the interface. Most mute leads just require a ground to trigger mute (which not only mutes the stereo but also displays a visual allert on the stereo's display).

Good luck!

I haven't done this yet, but I think you could simply use a relay to trip the factory mute circuit. that is if your radar detector has some type of output line, I may install the V1 and when i'm installing will give this a shot.
