Thumbs up iPhone 3G, Alpine 9885, iPod cable

I have a 9885 with the iPod cable and an iPhone. Its great for my iPod as it charges it, plays the music in the car, and lists artist info. For my iPhone, I can play Pandora or other Internet radio through my car, but I can't charge the iPhone while its plugged in for music because the iPhone uses different pins in the cable.

Since my iPhone and iPod both charge on my computer using the same USB cable, I assume Alpine could sell an updated cable to plug into my 9885 so I can charge the iPhone while its plugged in. Has anyone heard anything like this?

Is anyone using a newer Alpine HU that does charge the iPhone while its plugged in?

Thanks,

So, the iPod part of the iPhone won't be recognized only? I am mainly interested in using the iPhone for streaming radio, so if I can use the Scosche adapter to power the iPhone and I can still play my streaming radio, that would work.
