IR DCI VS. WIRED DCI
im planning to buy modifry's DCI but really dont know what is better if its thte IR DCI or WIRED DCI....can someone please guide me on what to get and what will i need..i went to modifry's site and clicked on the purchase to see how much and came across 2 diff DCI..WIRED and IR DCI..then saw selections of harnesses...IR DCI plug-n-play harness and WIRED DCI plug-n-play harness...so the big question is what do i need for my ALPINE 9886? THANKS ALOT!!
DCI != harness. Again, the harness (just wires and connectors) is in the upper part of the photo. The DCI (what actually interfaces your head unit to the dash controls) is in the lower part.

As a rule of thumb go with the wired DCI unless you have to go IR. Refer to the compatibility page:

For the 9886 definitely go wired and get the PnP harness.

There's a connector on the harness for the DCI. The harness I posted above looks like the generic one that you have to splice into the harness for your head unit (sorry for the confusion!).
Here's the actual Alpine PnP harness pictured along with the DCI and an Alpine head unit.
