Jl Subs
the reason i posted this question in the beginning was because everyone seems to give me a different explanation about them. I didnt mean to seem like i didnt wanna give it any effort for research. Perhaps i should have been more clear. Sorry bout that. I owned 2 12 w0s in my accord and 2 12 w3s also in my accord, but I never owned 2 10s of any kind and havent had much experience with them. Being a new owner of an s2 I do not know what sounds better in it. That was my main concern. Thanks for the replys.
well, i'm not trying to brush you off either... but it seems like we get a never ending assault of 'what would this sound like in my car' questions... and often, the answers are very easy if one does just a little research...
if you could be a bit more specific w/ the question, i'm sure you'll get plenty of opinions... afterall just like ***holes, everyone's got one...
seriously though... can you be a bit more detailed w/ what you want?

Everyone I've heard from that has 2x 12s (and I know you said two 10s but that's still a lot of energy) has complained incesantly about rattles. Rattles are a pet peave with me ... I just can't really get into music with that kind of distorted sound in the way.
I too came from 2x JL 12W0s. Mine were in a ported box in a Civic and were nice, but for my S 2000 I chose to go with 2x 8" e8a.44 subs from Elemental Designs. ED is backordered right now, but mine should be shipped in two weeks. I can't wait! Phil, among many others, have the e8a(s) and seem very happy with it.
I think (1) 10 or 12 would be perfect for the S given the size of everything. I am a big fan of the Elemental Designs stuff and I plan on getting one of their K series 10" or 12" If you get a good sub in a sealed box and feed it power from a quality amp you will be doing great. For me car audio is all about quality equipment, starting with some good stuff should yeild some good results as long as you install it properly and follow the specifications for box sizes, etc.
Just do what i did. I got 1 JL audio 12" w7 and put it in the back of my S2000
Do a search under my name and see if you can find mt thread. I think i named it something like Custom stereo JL audio 12" w7, tell me what u think

thanks guys. ok heres my clarification. I am wondering which combo of subs will give me the best sound quality while still being strong enough for me to feel the bass in my body. Which 12 loud and clear without overkill which set of 10s will be loud and clear without overkill. Im guessing i would like the loudness to be somewhere around how 2 12s w3 were in my accord sedan, but i would like to get something with that strength while maximizing clarity. If u guys still need more clarification then just let me know. thanks for being soo nice.
What's your price range? Dave will probably recommend the Soundstream DaVinci 12. They can sometimes be purchased on eBay for dirrt cheap. The DaVinci series will take 1,000 watts RMS and the sheet metal shattering dBExtreme also takes 1000 watts but bursts to 2,300 watts. I'd be curious to see how you could fit 4,600 watts of amps into the trunk of an S 2000 but I'd love to see you try! Take slots of pics if you go that route! Soundstream does make a couple 1,600 watt RMS amps so I guess you could do it.

Have you seen my setup? im telling you its clean and i still have alot of truck space. the only problem is the 12" w7 sub itself weighs 45 pounds and i have 2 amps. My friend has 3 12 w3's in his pickup and my S2000 with the one 12" w7 is just a little bit quieter than his. We are both running the same power to the subs by the way.
