Alpine MRP-M500
Best bang for the buck & is perfect for your set-up.

You are running only one Alpine R 12s right? The Alpine M500 is a mono amp with 500 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms. Your Alpine R has 200-500 RMS which is perfect for the Alpine M500. Make sure you have the Alpine R dual 4-ohm.

I was planning on doing this same exact set-up. I even called Crutchfield & another local stereo shop to ask about the Alpine M500 with the Alpine type R. They both said it would be like white on rice.

As for me, I am going with a different route now. I already have the Alpine R component speakers and the Alpine F-300 4 channel amp bridged into 2 channel. Great sound quality but missing some bass. Therefore, I will be purchasing the Infinity Basslink II which produces 250 RMS with built in amp. My set-up won't wake up the neighbors, but it should be enough to wake me up.

Amp kit? You mean wires? Make sure you run 4G wires.
