Default just bought s2k, code on cd player!

Whats up guys,
I just bought my s2k, problem is they'res a code on the CD player and the dealer says they don't know what it is, and it costs 75 bucks to reset it, (or they say) I was pretty upset about selling me an 19,000 dollar car and not have a working cd player but business is just that I guess,
well I don't have an owners manual so I don't know what to do as far as reading it lol. anybody know a way I can reset that code? I allready tried pulling the negative on the battery lol
can I just take out the cd player and reinstall it and that clears it?

HELP!!!

i'm not sure about you, but that dealership would have p.o'd me. one, they should have given you a manual(that is just being cheap), and more importantly they should be on the horn calling honda to get you your code.

i think the code is only 5 or 6 numbers. anytime you pull the power, i.e. the battery, the code needs to be re-entered. as far as i know you can't reset it at home. in other words, if they won't get you the code, call honda yourself and explain what is going on. i don't have my info with me right now, but i can get you a phone number if it helps.

Did you look in the secret compartment for your manual? That is where they normally are.

If it's not there, you can remove the stereo and read the serial number off of it. Honda can get the security code that way... I just did the same thing last night and am not looking forward to removing it just to get the stupid serial number =(

They probably want to charge you the $75 to pull the stereo, read the serial number, then put it back. You can save that by doing it yourself.

I used to install car audio for a living so i know there are no tricks. You'll have to pony up the money. You can usually get the code cheaper if you have the serial # off the back of the radio for them.

what secret comparment?
I guess I'll just remove the stereo and tell the serial number to honda and see if they can call whoever and get the code. Anybody know the link to a "how to" remove cd player?

For the 75 bucks that's more or less half way to a better head unit. I'd take this chance to invest. These heads are plain crap.

For your 75+another few bucks-modfrys unit= Your good to go !

for $50 i'll tell you where the secret compartment is

seriously though, there's a good chance the manual is in there, you could save yourself alot of trouble if you find the manual first. there should be an insert in there w/your radio code. good luck and if you do find the code ... call up your dealer and curse them out for trying to charge you

Check the inside trunk above the latch. My s2000 has the stereo code there. It's a sticker. It may have a bar code, too.

See my website (2nd link below) for useful info on taking out (and replacing) the head unit...
