Just Installed Lucid's 5.25 3ways. WOW!!
Just spent my first day with Lucid's 5.25 3 way Kenwoods. What a difference they make. I got the box yesterday, installed it in a hour with Lucid's excellent instructions. So today it was 60 degrees and I took her out for a spin. I can actually hear the stock radio very well at 70 mph. Sounds great. My wife also drove it tonight and also mentioned what a difference they make.
Thank's Lucid.

Me, too, same speakers. I had no idea that there was any bass in my music until today! The Kenwoods must be more efficient than my Sony 1621s, too, because the rears were louder than my fronts. I will switch out the fronts tomorrow and see how much improvement that makes.
The install was a piece of cake. It took me 70 minutes, but I could do it again in 45 minutes. The only problem was that the driver's side clip didn't want to refasten because the speaker's magnet was pushing against a bundle of wiring...easily fixed.

In my opinion, yes. There is as big an improvement going from the Sony 1621s to the 3-ways as there was going from stock speakers to the Sonys. Big, big improvement...as VMO pointed out, you can hear the music at speed clearly (I have only been up to 60mph so far, though).
Has anyone had issues with the rear speakers rubbing on the seats? I am considering the 3-way rear upgrade based on what I see on the forum but being rather tall I drive with the seat all the way back.

I installed these speakers about 2 weeks ago. Took about 2 hours, but I took my sweet time. I could do it in under an hour now. Definitely worth it.
My 6' friend sat in my car with the seat all the way back to check clearances. He just ordered a set 2 days ago for his new S2K.
Lucid was real good about giving me options. I did not want to spend a whole lot on stereo upgrades for my 2002. They recommended these Kenwoods, a couple weeks before they were released, and leaving the rest of the stock system as is for now. Definitely good advice. Unless I get a new head unit, I don't think I will be upgrading the door speakers.
Installation was easy ... and this is the first time I have installed any stereo stuff myself.
Thanks Lucid!!!

I installed the kenwood 3 ways in the door and left the factory tweeters in and just installed the high end kenwood 2ways in the rear. Awesome combination with the 02 head unit. PS, my driver side clip on the panel was also difficult to reattach. Had to take off the adjoining panel and install as one unit. Not difficult to do if you have to do it this way. My wiring harness that was in the way, would hardly move. Probably just production tolerances.
