JVC KD-NX5000 Voice Prompts and Reverse Wire Ques.
I just installed a JVC KD-NX5000 in my car. It works great but there are a couple of questions that I cannot get answers to from the user manual.
1) When I have music playing and using the Navigation System at the same time, the music only mutes/attenuates in the front speakers. The rear speakers continue to play music at full volume. Does your KD-NX5000 also do this or do I have a lemon?
I've set the Audio Mixing setting to MUTE (p43 of the user manual) and it only mutes the music in the front speakers. The voice prompt also only is hear in the front speakers. This makes it very difficult to hear. I can increase the voice prompt volume, lower my music volume, or set the fader more to the front speakers, but these solutions are not ideal. I would rather have the music lowered from all 4 speakers when the voice prompt occurs even if the voice prompt only is sent from the front ones.
Anyway, I'm just wondering if my unit works like everyone else's.
2) Is it necessary to hook up the reverse wire? Is this only used if you have a rear camera or does the Navigation System also use this to determine your location on the chance that you need to drive in reverse?
Thanks all.
