Default Keyless Entry OEM Upgrade Alarm?

Hey guys,

I just bought a brand new 2007 S2000 and looking to install an alarm on it. I am looking at the OEM upgrade alarm from Hornet (model number 727T).

I asked around and did some searchs and looks like there is good documentation on the older hornet model 720. I called a local installer and they said they would NOT recommend the hornet system and said to go with Clifford all the way. but i think he was just BSing me and just wanted me to buy a more expensive alarm from him.

I was wondering if anybody has this installed on their s2000's and have any recommendations, reviews, or opinions on it?

Thanks for help!

The 727T is a decent add-on alarm - far better than the Honda alarm and it still uses the factory remotes.

Clifford is also a good alarm that offers a lot of options.

Any alarm is only as good as the installation.

If your installer has not installed on an S2000 before this may help - http://darksidesubs.com/alarm/S2000ALARM.htm

i JUST got the 727T installed on my car today. i didnt want a full alarm installed because i simply didnt want to get rid of the factory remote.

i honestly havent had time to test it out and play with it. but im hopeful for some of the extra features it can do like passive locking. i tend to forget to lock the doors myself, so i get paranoid and always seem to double check.

i will check in later with an experienced review.

The programming menu on the Hornet alarms requires remote inputs when the door is open. Unfortunately you can not actuate Honda OEM keyless unless the door is closed.

Trick is to make the alarm think the door is open when it is actually closed. To do this you need to disconnect the door trigger wire from where it ties into the car and hold it to ground. This will allow you to close the door and still have the alarm think the doors are open.

well i just fooled around with it and the problem isnt the doors. the way my installer wired things, the domelights must be in the constant ON position, not in the OFF position as the installation instructions suggest.

i tried to change the door UNLOCK feature to "double unlock pulse" so the passenger side unlocks. but it apparently doesnt work. being that its almost midnight right now with all the beeps and chirps, im not going to try to confirm i did it right. but i did get the right amount of pulsing this time, so i know its doing something. it just may be ineffective with the OEM keyless remote, perhaps not enough delay between double pulses.

So i never found the time to do this myself, i had a local alarm store do the install. Everything is working fine - i got the proximity installed with a battery backup alarm siren!

But yea i have to hit unlock twice to get the passenger side door open.
