I know DarkCrow has seen this, but do any of you guys have any experience with this LCD.

Model Number LVMD-7700

Its a 7" widescreen, but my concern
is....it has 112,320 Pixels (W480xh234x3rgb)...I am wondering what the clarity is like on this unit. If anyone has, or knows, or can get some info on this screen, please let me know.

They had those at a local Fry's electronic store. Screen looks pretty good. A different look than the standard notebook style portable DVD players.

Thanks a lot. Im gonna get it and mount it on a gooseneck. Pics to follow. I just hope the resolution is nice. Not $15,000 plasma nice, but clean and crips. To the people that know computers, is that amount of pixels decent for a 7" screen?

i guess no then? (based upon your other post)

i just don't enough about these screens... but i do think this sounds a bit low. the real concern is a PPI issue (pixels per inch). what is the length and width measurements of the screen? i think you'll want at least 100 PPI to make it look decent. still, i'm really guessing on most of this... so, take it for what it's worth.

Note that the 1440 is actually the number of pixels * 3 (one each for red, green and blue). What we'd all call the resolution would really be 1440 / 3 = 480 x 234.

This is a fairly nice screen. Pixel count is good enough since its only a 7" screen. In theory more pixel should be better however, when u play with a 7" the differences are minimal. Plus, you are getting a 500lines feed from the DVD itself. It's pointless to get higher res.

Unless this is a plasma or home LCD when u can hook up HD signal consist of: 480p, 720p and 1080i scan lines.

This screen is very well built over all and I have invested a unit in my car. Currently I have a ship to make a CF mold for s2000 dash. I should have it shortly. I will let you know the turn out.

Btw, My price is kinda high because I bought some awhile back and I have about 90 units in inventory. Fry's currently have it on sale for 249.00 or so. So I will let mine for for $290 if you are interested or u can but from fry's. But I can throw in a headrest bracket for free at that price tho =P.

Up to you if you wanna help me out. Hehhehe....btw, $290 is tax included.

525x240 is one of the standard resolutions for television (your typical TV set uses 525x425). Drop it to 480x234 for typical overscan and sidebar coating and you're looking at a standard setup.
