LEDs
I wish I could have gotten the Js LED kit before they discontinued it. However, I saw this aftermarket kit for Audi and was wondering if I could use it. The thing I am wondering is if anyone knows how to wire these things and whether it could work with the S2000s electronics. TIA.
Without knowing any details about those I would say yes you can make them work, and you could probably get away with wiring them in the parking light circuit at each parking light. There is a chance you will draw too much current and blow the fuse, if that is the case you would have to run a relay off the parking light circuit and a separate power line to the LED's
You are not likely to blow any fuses using LEDs. They draw minimal current. The
question is, are they set up for running off 12VDC? Should be, if they were intended
for automotive use. If you connect them to 12VDC and they blow, then you needed
a resistor. So see if it has a Resistor. If you can't find one, or can't open it up to see,
try connecting a smaller voltage to it first; say, 6VDC. If it doesn't light, or is very dim,
then it has the resistor, and you can use it with 12V.
You can also change the brightness by putting resistors in series with it. If you're
cleaver enough, you can use a POT and dim it with a twist of the knob.
PM if you want details about that.
