So, WLaurent's alarm comes with an install manual w/ instructions & pics specific to the s2000? That would certainly be nice rather than just the manual that is on his site which is for a general install. This certainly sounds like a good route to go vs. the stock system.

One thing I'm curious about is the siren. I realize this may sound a little anal, but I've heard some aftermarket sirens before and some of them sound really chintzy (sp?). I guess I'm specifically talking about the warning chirps or arm/disarm chirps. The factory keyless entry system honks the horn, and I'm assuming the factory alarm does the same and blairs the horn when the alarm is set off. I haven't been around an s2k with a factory system so I'm purely speculating here. With this hornet alarm I'm assuming the siren then takes over the job of the horn to chirp when the system is armed/disarmed....is this correct? I had a viper alarm on my integra, so I'm familiar with DEI units....can I expect the same kind of siren tones with this unit? Again, I realize the alarm's main purpose is security so I'm probably going a bit overboard with the siren tone, but I would just like to choose something that is appropriate for this kind of car.

You can wire the output to the stock horn and use it in place of the siren that comes with the alarm kit. This can be said for any alarm system. I plan on getting WLAURENT's setup for mine as well and will do this. I will also do like he did and wire the alarm's siren inside the vehicle as a backup. Best of both worlds if you ask me. I also don't like the cheap 6-way sounding sirens so having the alarm use the horn as it's main outlet with the siren inside will work perfet for me.

Cool, thanks. I'm wondering though.... with the factory remote locks you have to hit unlock twice to unlock the passenger's door. With an alarm the siren will chirp twice when you unlock/disarm. With this system do you hear four chirps after hitting unlock twice for the passenger's door? I would hope not as this would be a bit annoying. Again... just me being anal. Also, will the factory remote trunk release still work?

stingerbtry - the horn hookup sounds like a great idea. I'm wondering though if when you hook it up will you get one continuous horn blair when the alarm is set off, or are there pauses like the factory alarm would work? I'm not too familiar with alarms and I'm wondering if the DEI system sends one continuous signal to the siren or if it follows some type of on-off pattern. Like I said though, I'm not really familiar with alarm installs and I may not be thinking this through.
