the lights of Dashboard Gauges are blinking?
Hi,
Today morning, when I was warming Up my S2000, I notice that the lights of the Gauges are blinking "Looks like that they will turn off", and when I Rev above 2000 RPM it will return as normal.
When I stopped for the traffic lights, it happens again & the Gauges begin to blink.
The weird thing that other dashboard lights are working fine. Seems that the problem is only in Gauges lights.
Can someone help me please?
Thanks ...

It looks like there is a lose connector somewhere. At low RPMs the car vibrates more so you notice the problem.
Do you have any dashboard related mods? If the car's under warranty I'd take it to the dealer.
Good luck!

Are they blinking or dimming? If blinking, there's a short. If dimming, chances are you have a bad alternator. I'd have a shop test the alternator first and go from there.
where is the location of the alternator? So I can check it.
Thanks
The alternator is on the right of the motor (if you are standing in the front of the car, looking under the hood.) It looks like a cylinder that is full on spun copper wire. Checking it wont do any good, as you cant tell if anything is wrong with it. However, its def. not your alternator if you can drive the car. If it was dead, your entire car would be running off just the battery, and you wouldnt make it 2 miles before your car shuts down. Take it to the dealer if you didnt do anything back there.
I'm with MyBad on the alt being bad. It sounds like it might have a bad internal diode or regulator or a loose connection causing a reduced output. You can check the connections yourself, but the internal issues have to be checked with a load tester.
There are 2 connections on the back of the alt, a green multi-wired one and a single eyelit. If you can squeeze you hand back there, just make sure they are both fully secured. The eyelit one is under a rubber boot and has a 10mm nut attaching it. Also make sure the battery terminals are clean and tight.
And you can drive a car more than 2 miles off of just the battery....

A bad alternator doesn't necessarily mean its not giving a charge. It may be giving off a weak or intermittent charge.
Let us know how it turns out.

An s2000 will not drive more than 5 minutes AT MOST with no alternator. I said 2 miles, not as an exact number, but as a small time, meaning, if his car drives all day, its not the alternator.
