I need a lil bass, and don't really want to buy another amp, unless I need to. Could someone critique my thoughts please?

My current setup.

1.Alpine 9813 35w/channel rms with sub directline
2.Kenwood 749s amp (a 4,3,or 2 channel amp) 500w total, ~240rms
@ 2ohms 60rms *4channels
@ 4ohms 40rms *4channels
3.Infinity 60.5 cs (5-90rms) in doors

The amp is bridged to 2 channels going into the door speakers.

I'm thinking of purchasing a JL12 W 0 (recommended 90 - 125 rms)

I would like to remove the bridge on amp and send only 2 channels to the door speakers, and bridge the other 2 channels into 1 channel for the amp. My concern is that I might not have enough power. I think it will be really close though. I want to have enough bass to hear it and feel it at 70mph. I don't need that much. Clarity is important though.

Could you guys help a newbie out with some suggestions. I really don't want to buy another amp, if I don't have to ($). I have also thought about buying an Infinity bass link and putting it where the spare is.

I'm all over the place. Insight is appreciated. Thanks.

For "a lil bass" I think you should go with an 8 or a 10. JL10w3 is a better choice than a w0. You can also go with the Kicker Comp (or Comp VR) line which perform pretty well with a small box and less power. I just don't like w0s.

I assume the 500W is a special "Alpine Watt", since 4x40 wrms is only 160?

I have a Kenwood 4x50 (rms) that normally has 2 ch for the doors and 2 ch for the bass shakers, but I temporarily disconnected the shakers and ran it bridged (150wrms) to run my new 10" sub. Sure seemed like enough power to me.

Now my sub is inside the cabin, so it's probably louder than a trunk unit would be with the same power.

I don't know how 40*4 equates to 240w/rms Looks like fuzzy math to me.

the 240Wrms on the Kenwood amp comes from the fact that the 4x40Wrms bridges to 2x120Wrms and 120*2 = 240. double that for a rather far fetched peak power, and you get 500Wrms.

ahh... marketing. don'tcha love it?
