Yes, they were more sensitive, but, I was able to physically turn the volume up higher than the point of distortion on the stock speakers.

If you have a radio with a removable face plate, nobody can take it! hell strange people out there might steal the stock radio, thats why it has codes. You spent 32 grand plus, why not a couple hundred so you can enjoy your tunes? ya dig?

Lucid.....your correct.....but usually, a thief is not going to want a stock radio. Whereas, an aftermarket one is probably more attractive to them.

One misconceptiom people have about amps is that they are to play music louder. This is incorrect. People with amps listen to music at the same volume, just clearer.

things you can do to stop a theft:

1. lock doors, arm alarm
2. put the top UP
3. Close radio door
4. remove faceplate

The biggest damage a thief will do is to cut the roof and damage the body compared to that most head units are small fry.

My recommendation is to keep your stereo stealthy (the radio flap helps), and if you're going to a bad area, take a taxi and drink freely.

The only tell tale sign of a stereo upgrade in my car is the tweeters on the dash.
