Thumbs up Link to "Top Down While Moving" Mod?

Thanks.

I've already done the "power supply swaps" for the trunk switch and the 12V outlet.

I love my "Garage Door Opener / Cruise Control" mod. One less piece floating around the cabin.

Maybe I'm a closet "Electronics Junkie"?

Just did this and while removing the panel one of the clips "pinged" into the inside of the dash somewhere. Can't seem to find it. Any ideas how to get a cheap replacement? The panel isn't really secure right now without the clip.

the whole panel costs about $10 to replace.... i'm not sure if that's 'cheap' enough for you, but i've cracked that panel and broken those clips more than once... i think i'm on panel number 3...

wait, did the clip (metal part) just fall off? or did the plastic part break off with it? if the metal part popped away, then just look around in there for it. it shouldn't have gone too far. if it did though, the dealer would have a replacement for pennies.

The panel is in one piece. It's only the metal clip that fell off. I heard it ping off and bounce around, but am unable to locate it. Who knows what dark corner it fell into.

I'll swing by my dealer tomorrow and ask if they have a spare. Seems silly to buy a whole new panel, even if it is cheap, just to replace a clip that has to be worth a nickel.

edit: For the time being I move the lower center clip to the corner and the panel seems pretty secure. Perhaps in time the loose clip will show up.
