Default look at my possible system please

i will probably get:
Alpine 9851 with DCI modifry
polk db6500 components

i want to get a 4 channel sub that will power just the components for now. However i may add a decent 8in or 10in sub in the future. can somebody please list some good amplifiers that will be good for this setup. and any websites that have good deals. thanks

I personally wouldn't use that amp as the power going into the subs is 160 watts which is pretty anemic.

What's your budget?

Alpine MRV-545 is a highly unrated amp @ 125x4. One member her had his benched and it delivereed 170 watts or so. Bridged it's 500 watts to the sub according to Alpine but probably puts out a helluva lot more.

Another alternative is the MB Quart QAA4250 which is 250x4 and also bridgeable for the sub. Big balls on this bad boy.

The Alpine is a great choice, so would a Rockford T4004.4 (not the P4004) perhaps a JL Audio 300.4. I guess it depends on what you want to spend.

Problem with the JL is that bridged it puts out as stated. He'd still only be getting 150 to the sub channel which imo won't cut it. I'm not sure about the RF amp so I won't comment on it.

Bang for the buck, the Alpine is a heckuva deal, roughly 350ish or so on the ebay market. The MB is also a good deal as well but it's VERY, VERY thick. That may be a problem depending on your install. I know it's one of the reasons why I haven't already ordered one.

pic . J/K....

I just installed a Hifonics 8800 Titan. Look for my thread....has pics and everything. Sounds great. About 1/2 the price of the Alpine ($325 vs. $175). Puts out 110wrms per channel (into 4-ohms) and 440wrms to the sub. I think those JL speakers are either 3 or 6 ohms.....they are funny like that. If they are 3, they should get more power than the 110. Would be between the 110 4-ohm rating and the 220 2-ohm ratings. I would recommend this amp to anyone.

I went throught the same dilemna. I bought the JL 450/4. It sends 75W to the front components and 300 to the sub. As long as you aren't adding rear speakers, it's a pretty good solution. If you ditch the spare and mount it there with PAS2KNUT's tray, you should be good to go.
