Default Looking for advice on sound setup.

I'm currently overseas, and will be back home in a few months. So I am looking to purchase a sound setup. I am currently running a Kenwood KIV-700 HU. Everything else is stock. I'm looking at the Alpine type-r shallow mount for sub, and still in the air for component speakers. I hear a lot of people on here like the Polk Db speakers. I'm open to suggestions and I'm just trying to build a system that I can enjoy listen to my music. It does not have to be the hardest hitting system.

I'll be picking up a tool well enclosure for a 10" sub. My question is, what is the difference with 2 and 4 ohm subs, single and dual voice coils, and what type of amp would I need to be able to run a proper setup, are there any differences in brand name wiring kits, and would I need to run a capacitor.

2 ohms 4 ohms, single and dual voice coils are just for ohm load configurations.. soo the less ohm the more power, because of less resistance.
low brand amp kits are okay, but they would have less wire and more plastic warping.
and for components people say get the MM series not the db some people think the db series are kinda cheap

myself im looking at audioque, mm polk, and massive audio components

You really should get out and listen to the speakers you're considering. Don't assume that you'll like what others like.

I don't have the option of going to a store right now til I get home. I may have to find a stereo shop around town once I get back home, but i'm trying to purchase everything before I get back stateside so I can install all my parts at once. So in the meantime I will be researching everything and the possible matches that may work.

i for one, think the polk db series sound like junk. I think they are only popular here because they fit with no mods. i seriously think my stock speakers sounded better than the set up of Polks i heard at Best Buy.

I'm stuck between choosing a 10" alpine type-r or a 10" kicker cvx. Any opinions on either two, or are they pretty equal to each other?
